What's are the Dramatics & Intro to Theatre class like?

Dramatics and Intro to Theater Arts are elective courses which focus on the foundations of performing and technical theater. A creative class where students are devising their own projects and getting hands on experiences using school resources, such as running the light board, learning to sew, creating dances, and directing their classmates in school scenes! Students build basic theatre skills through acting, dance, design, improvisation, storytelling, theater history, theater etiquette, technical theater and playwriting.

This class is the ultimate actors toolbox, techie's dream, and the study of theater as a whole, encouraging discovery through experimentation, the taking of risks and the presentation of ideas to others.  

 

Students will create, design, direct, perform, and spectate through live theater, as well as analyze, critique, and reflect on the art of theater.
